Hallis conducts regular surveys and research for individual businesses and across industries on a range of recruitment issues. Our surveys, including remuneration practices, employee turnover and absenteeism, have provided an invaluable source of information since 1995.
The quality of Hallis research is confirmed by the interest shown in our work. Hallis surveys have received substantial national radio, television and print media coverage. The findings of our national surveys are regularly used by government, business and unions as a basis for their strategy and policy development.
Hallis also develops and conducts customised, internal organisational surveys. Surveys of up to several hundred employees across individual or multiple work locations have explored staff sentiment in relation to a range of people management and operational practices.
The Hallis Contact Centre Salary Survey 2008 - Available Now
Do you know …
- How well you are paying your contact centre staff?
- What your competitors are paying their staff?
- What the trends are in contact centre remuneration?
In a competitive industry where there is a shortage of quality candidates with skills to suit Contact Centre environments, you need to be able to offer attractive remuneration and rewards as part of your resourcing campaign. The only way to achieve this is to have the latest intelligence on salaries and be aware of best practices in remuneration throughout the industry. But where do you get reliable, timely and credible remuneration data that will help you save time and money?
The current survey obtained remuneration information from 100 organisations controlling 199 Contact Centres and employing over 10,000 Contact Centre personnel nationwide. This year, Hallis provides information on 29 Contact Centre roles with salaries also categorised by industry and location. This information will provide invaluable support for your remuneration planning in 2008/2009. The report also provides information on:
- Impact of Contact Centre size on manager salaries
- Salary increases by industry and location for the past financial year and anticipated increases for 2008/2009
- Mechanisms for setting pay and their impact on salary levels
- Relationships between salary, overtime, shift and other allowances
- Performance pay, incentives and bonuses.
As a summary, agent salaries increased by an average 5.65% in 2007/08, which is substantially higher than in previous years. As expected, the highest salaries are paid in Sydney and Melbourne, but there has been an acceleration in pay rises in boom economies such as Queensland.
Stephen Walton, Chief Psychologist, says, “There has been a new and dramatic shift in Contact Centre salaries which are now no longer moving in tandem with the CPI. The fight for skilled staff in a tight labour market means that employers need to know what their competitors are paying to attract and retain talent”.
